To put it simply, the goal of this ESL course is to increase English proficiency in whatever ways best match the students’ needs and abilities. This class is specifically aimed towards those who are at a B1 or B2 level, however other students are welcomed as well.

Method: While traditional methods will be used for grammatical instruction, such as identifying parts of speech in texts and worksheets, other methods will be implemented as well. The goal is to successfully utilize a variety of different teaching methods in a single course in order to best imitate the diverse use of the English language in daily affairs. This process includes videos, pictures, listening, reading, a great deal of discussion and whatever materials that are useful in creating a fun learning process for the english language. The idea is to create an organized atmosphere that allows students to develop an understanding of the English language in a natural manner, without necessarily feeling overly burdened.

There are a variety of different ways to approach learning a second language, that involves splitting the various components of the language into different categories. The most obvious way to approach English is by observing the 4 domains in which we use the language: speaking, listening, writing and reading. For this reason, this course routinely includes activities that include all four of these components. Needless to say, there will be a great deal of variety, as each of these four components involves multiple areas of knowledge, (i.e. writing is not limited to one skillset, but involves grammar, comprehension, spelling, vocabulary etc..).
